Mumbai : The BRICS WAVES Bazaar was inaugurated in Mumbai, bringing together more than 500 delegates from BRICS member and partner countries to strengthen cooperation in the creative economy and promote cross-border collaboration.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of Maharashtra Minister for Electronics, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Culture Ashish Shelar, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Chanchal Kumar, renowned filmmaker and IFFI Goa Festival Director Ashutosh Gowariker, Joint Secretary (MER-III), Ministry of External Affairs Rajiv Bodwade, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Senthil Rajan, and Managing Director of the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) Prakash Magdum, along with other distinguished dignitaries.
Over the next two days, the BRICS India 2026 WAVES Bazaar will serve as a platform for dialogue, business engagement, knowledge exchange and cross-border partnerships across the audiovisual and creative industries involving BRICS member and partner countries.
The event aims to deepen collaboration in the creative sector by facilitating networking opportunities and encouraging international partnerships among stakeholders from across the BRICS bloc.
