Piyush Goyal Calls for Business-Centric BRICS to Drive Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Growth

New Delhi: Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal addressed the BRICS Business Forum, welcoming industry leaders, business executives, and delegates from across the BRICS nations to India. He stressed that a people-centric BRICS must be complemented by a business-centric BRICS to unlock new opportunities for sustainable economic growth.

In his address, Goyal highlighted the need for deeper cooperation among BRICS member countries in key areas such as trade facilitation, digital commerce, MSME integration, resilient supply chains, and a rules-based multilateral economic framework. He said enhanced collaboration in these sectors would pave the way for the next phase of economic growth and prosperity across the BRICS bloc.

The Union Minister underscored India’s commitment to fostering stronger economic partnerships under its BRICS Chairship, stating that the country’s leadership is guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Building Resilience & Innovation for Cooperation & Sustainability.”

Goyal said India looks forward to working closely with fellow BRICS members to build a more resilient, innovative, and inclusive future for the Global South, while strengthening trade, investment, and business cooperation among the member nations.

The BRICS Business Forum serves as a key platform for industry leaders and policymakers to promote economic collaboration, investment, innovation, and sustainable development across BRICS economies.
