In a statement, Kejriwal claimed that US President Donald Trump wants American ethanol to be sold in India and alleged that the Modi government is listening to Trump instead of the people of the country.
Referring to the existing E20 fuel blend, Kejriwal said that the public is already facing difficulties due to its implementation, yet the government is reportedly preparing to purchase USD 20 billion worth of ethanol over the next five years.
Questioning the proposed move, he asked, “Ultimately, whose interests does this deal serve?”
AAP further claimed that over 2.33 lakh people affected by E20 have signed a petition addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the party, Arvind Kejriwal will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 12 noon on Tuesday, accompanied by 100 people, to submit the petition and raise concerns over the proposed ethanol imports.
