New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has achieved a significant milestone with the successful completion of its first Women Quick Response Team (QRT) Course, reinforcing the force’s commitment to enhancing women’s participation in specialised operational roles. The inaugural Women QRT course concluded on July 28, 2026, at the 10th Reserve Battalion with a formal closing ceremony attended by senior CISF officials. The women commandos underwent rigorous and intensive training designed to prepare them for high-risk operational responsibilities. The course included specialised modules on tactical operations, counter-terrorism drills, rapid response techniques, and other mission-critical skills required for handling emergency and security situations.
The closing ceremony was graced by Binita Thakur, Additional Director General (ADG), Airport Sector (APS), CISF, who congratulated the women commandos on successfully completing the demanding training programme. She commended their dedication, discipline, and determination, noting that their achievement marks a new chapter in the operational capabilities of the force.
On the occasion, ADG Binita Thakur also inaugurated a dedicated Quick Response Team training area, developed to provide realistic, mission-oriented training environments for CISF personnel. The facility is expected to enhance operational preparedness by enabling commandos to train under simulated real-world scenarios.
The CISF said the successful completion of its first Women QRT batch reflects its continued commitment to women’s empowerment, operational excellence, and gender inclusion within the force. The initiative is aimed at creating greater opportunities for women personnel to serve in specialised combat and rapid response roles while strengthening the overall operational readiness of the organisation.
The graduation of the first Women Quick Response Team is being viewed as a landmark step towards expanding the role of women in India’s security forces and promoting greater representation in elite operational units.
