New Delhi : Following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke welcomed the development, calling it a victory for the peaceful struggle of students and youth. However, he asserted that the protest movement would continue until its remaining demands are fulfilled.
Dipke said he had maintained from the beginning that the peaceful agitation by the youth would not go in vain. Referring to Pradhan’s resignation, he stated that it demonstrated that citizens need not fear the government in a democracy.
“Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. This proves that if you do not get scared and do not bow before the government, you can even secure the resignation of a minister. There is no need to be afraid in a democracy,” Dipke said.
While welcoming the resignation, Dipke said the protesters have two additional demands. First, he demanded compensation of ₹1 crore for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide in connection with the examination crisis. He said every affected family should receive the compensation.
His second demand was for action against the police personnel involved in the alleged use of force against protesters during the demonstration on June 20. He called for disciplinary and legal action against the officers responsible.
Concluding his remarks, Dipke urged supporters to remain determined and reiterated that the movement would continue until all their demands are addressed. He also issued a slogan in support of his party, saying, “Remember, do not mess with cockroaches.”
