NDTA urges shopkeepers, offices, restaurants and establishments to cooperate and ensure compliance to avoid any untoward incident
New Delhi: The New Delhi Traders Association (NDTA) has issued an advisory asking all shop owners, offices, restaurants, and commercial establishments in Connaught Place, New Delhi, to close their operations by 6:30 PM on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
The advisory, issued in the name of Atul Bhargava, President, New Delhi Traders Association, stated that the decision was taken following telephonic directions from the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in view of the prevailing “critical situation” around the Connaught Place area.
According to the advisory:
“As advised by the Chairman NDMC and Vice Chairman NDMC, telephonically, looking at the critical situation around CP, it has been strictly advised that all shops and establishments, including offices and restaurants, in Connaught Place, New Delhi, shall close for the day by 6.30 PM today, that is 23.07.2026.”
The association has appealed to all establishment owners and occupiers to cooperate with the directions and ensure strict compliance.
The advisory further stated that the move has been suggested as a precautionary measure to avoid any unpleasant situation and to safeguard people, property, and businesses from any possible loss or damage.
The NDTA requested traders and commercial establishments to follow the instructions and extend cooperation with the authorities during the situation.
