New Delhi : To mark the celebrations of Independence Day 2026, the Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with MyGov, has announced a national-level painting competition inviting citizens to showcase their creativity and vision for the nation’s journey.
The theme of the competition is “India 1947 vs India 2047”, encouraging participants to depict the transformation of India from the time of independence to the vision of a developed nation by 2047.
Participants will get an opportunity to win a cash prize of ₹15,000 and may also get a chance to witness the grand Independence Day 2026 celebrations at the Red Fort on August 15.
The competition aims to encourage citizens, especially the youth, to express their ideas and imagination about India’s progress, achievements and future aspirations through art.
