New Delhi : In a major push towards enhancing Ease of Doing Business in the defence sector, the Directorate General of Defence Quality Assurance (DGDQA) awarded Green Channel and Self-Certification status certificates to industry partners, recognising their commitment to quality, reliability, and manufacturing excellence.
During the event, Shri N. Manoharan, Director General of Defence Quality Assurance (DGDQA), handed over 07 Green Channel certificates and 10 Self-Certification status certificates to leading industry partners, including Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), NISL, Keltron, Avantel, Thermocables, Siechem, and Ray Enterprises.
The initiative is aligned with the vision of Hon’ble Raksha Mantri and the Secretary, Defence Production, aimed at creating a more efficient, transparent, and industry-friendly defence manufacturing ecosystem.
The event also witnessed the launch of the Vendor Query and Complaint Portal – Q Seva 2.0, designed to provide a more responsive mechanism for addressing industry concerns. A demonstration of Artificial Intelligence-based applications in Quality Assurance (QA) was also presented during the programme.
The conferment of Green Channel status and approval of Self-Certification for eligible companies marks a significant transformation towards a trust-based and performance-oriented quality assurance framework.
The new approach recognises industry partners with proven quality performance and rewards consistency, reliability, and process maturity, while encouraging greater participation of the private sector in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.
The initiative is expected to further accelerate defence production, reduce procedural delays, and strengthen India’s journey towards self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
