India, Quebec Discuss New Avenues for Trade and Technology Cooperation; CEPA Expected to Boost Economic Ties

New Delhi: Commerce Secretary, Government of India Rajesh Agrawal held a meeting with Christopher Skeete and his delegation to explore ways to further strengthen economic cooperation between India and Canada.

During the discussions, both sides reviewed opportunities for collaboration in key sectors including aerospace manufacturing and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), critical minerals, clean energy storage, artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and education.

Rajesh Agrawal highlighted that Quebec’s technological capabilities and industrial strengths offer significant opportunities for deeper economic engagement and mutually beneficial partnerships between the two economies.

He said that the proposed India–Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) could open new pathways for expanding trade, boosting investment flows, and creating shared prosperity between India and Canada.

The meeting underlined the growing importance of innovation, technology, and sustainable industries in shaping the future of India–Canada economic relations.
