Indian Ambassador Visits Birla Carbon Facility in Egypt’s Alexandria

New Delhi : Indian Ambassador S. K. Reddy visited the Birla Carbon manufacturing facility in Alexandria, Egypt, one of the company’s largest production sites globally.

The facility, operated by Birla Carbon, is among the first major Indian industrial investments in Egypt. It has an annual production capacity of around 285,000 metric tonnes of carbon black and employs more than 500 local professionals, contributing significantly to the regional industrial ecosystem.

During the visit, the Ambassador was briefed on the plant’s operations and its role in strengthening India–Egypt economic cooperation through industrial collaboration and investment-led growth.

Birla Carbon also highlighted its ongoing community engagement initiatives in Egypt, including programmes in healthcare and education, underscoring its focus on sustainable and inclusive development in the regions where it operates.
