New Delhi : External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held a high-level meeting in Doha with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen India–Qatar bilateral relations.
During the discussions, the External Affairs Minister expressed appreciation for the Qatari leadership’s continued support in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of the large Indian community residing in Qatar, which plays a significant role in deepening people-to-people ties between the two nations.
The two sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation, including energy security, trade and investment, infrastructure development, connectivity initiatives, defence and security cooperation, and cultural exchanges. They also explored new opportunities to further expand the India–Qatar Strategic Partnership in emerging and high-growth sectors.
The conversation also included an exchange of views on the evolving situation in West Asia. The Qatari leadership shared its assessment of regional developments and their broader geopolitical implications, while India reiterated its consistent position in favour of dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
The meeting underscored the continued strengthening of India–Qatar relations and the shared commitment to expanding cooperation across strategic, economic, and humanitarian domains.
