Ambassador V. Doraiswami Meets AIIB President to Strengthen India-AIIB Cooperation in Beijing
New Delhi /Beijing : India’s Ambassador to China, V. Doraiswami, met Zou Jiayi, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), at the bank’s headquarters in Beijing to discuss ways to further strengthen the longstanding partnership between India and the multilateral development institution.
During the meeting, Ambassador Doraiswami and AIIB President Zou Jiayi exchanged views on expanding cooperation in key areas, including infrastructure development, climate finance and institutional collaboration. The discussions focused on enhancing AIIB’s support for India’s development priorities and promoting sustainable, resilient infrastructure.
Both sides also explored avenues to deepen institutional engagement in line with India’s long-term vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’, with an emphasis on fostering inclusive growth, climate-resilient investments and high-quality infrastructure.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of India and the AIIB to further strengthening their partnership through continued cooperation on development initiatives that contribute to India’s economic transformation and sustainable growth.
