New Delhi : Former U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed that he personally asked Xi Jinping not to supply weapons to Iran, claiming he received assurances that Beijing is not involved in such activities.
In an interview with Fox Business, Trump said he had written a letter to the Chinese President on the issue and was told that China “is not doing so.”
Meanwhile, China’s Foreign Ministry has strongly rejected media reports alleging that it is providing military assistance to Iran. Spokesperson Lin Jian described the claims as “completely false” in a post on X.
He further warned that if the United States imposes additional tariffs on China based on such allegations, Beijing would respond with countermeasures.
The exchange underscores rising tensions and mutual suspicion between the two countries over regional security concerns.
