Gurugram : The Progressive Federation of Trade and Industry (PFTI) has marked a significant milestone on the global stage by establishing a strong presence in Australia. This strategic move is rapidly unlocking new opportunities and avenues for global collaboration for Indian industries, particularly in Melbourne.

Commenting on this important initiative, Mr. Deepak Maini, Chairman, PFTI, said, “After Canada and Japan, PFTI’s presence in Australia further strengthens our global vision. This is a clear indicator of the immense opportunities ahead for Indian industries.”

As part of this initiative, a high-level and successful meeting of the PFTI delegation was held at the Consulate General of India in Melbourne with Mr. Anish Rajan, Consul General of India, Melbourne (Australia). The meeting was led by Mr. Jagat Pal Singh, Strategic Advisor – National & International Alliances, PFTI.

During the meeting, Mr. Jagat Pal Singh presented a comprehensive and data-backed overview of PFTI’s vision, working model, achievements, and its growing impact across the industrial ecosystem. Mr. Anish Rajan appreciated PFTI’s efforts and assured full cooperation and support. He also recommended that PFTI revisit Australia with a larger delegation to facilitate focused B2B meetings, strategic partnerships, and tangible business opportunities.

Highlighting the execution-focused roadmap, Advocate R. L. Sharma, Director General, PFTI, stated, “The next phase is clear—enabling industry-to-industry connect, sector-specific engagements, and developing structured models that allow MSMEs to directly access international markets.”

Emphasizing the diplomatic and relationship-building dimension, Dr. S. P. Aggarwal, Vice Chairman, PFTI, added, “This initiative goes beyond trade—it will serve as a catalyst in strengthening trust, collaboration, and long-term institutional relationships between India and Australia.”

Reflecting on the growth and opportunity landscape, Dr. Anshul Dhingra, Director, PFTI, said, “The growing trade relations between Australia and India are opening up new markets, technology partnerships, and export opportunities for Indian industries. The need of the hour is to convert these opportunities into structured and scalable business outcomes.”

This milestone clearly signals that PFTI is moving beyond conventional federation working and is actively building a structured global ecosystem—one that will play a decisive role in empowering Indian industries on the international stage.
