New Delhi: A meeting of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Heavy Industries was held at the New Parliament Building under the chairmanship of H. D. Kumaraswamy, with senior officials and key stakeholders in attendance.
Among those present were Kamran Rizvi, Secretary, MHI; Dr. Anshu Bharadwaj, Project Director at NITI Aayog; and K. Sadashiv Murthy, CMD of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited.
Addressing the meeting, Shri Kumaraswamy highlighted India’s ongoing transition towards sustainable development, aligned with the vision of Narendra Modi. He said the ‘Viksit Bharat-2047’ roadmap aims to establish India as a global manufacturing hub and a key player in international supply chains through innovation and large-scale production. He also commended BHEL for its continued contribution to nation-building.
During the session, BHEL presented an update on the progress of the Vande Bharat initiative, outlining advancements in indigenous manufacturing capabilities. This was followed by a presentation from NITI Aayog focusing on India’s strategy for transitioning to sustainable and green energy systems, with emphasis on low-carbon and energy-efficient growth.
Members of the Consultative Committee actively engaged in discussions, offering suggestions and insights on manufacturing growth and energy transition strategies.
