Chandigarh/Panchkula : Haryana Police has intensified its crackdown against the objectionable song “Tateeree,” taking firm action across digital platforms. According to the latest figures released by Panchkula Police, a total of 857 links related to the song have been removed so far, including 154 YouTube videos and 703 Instagram reels. Police officials stated that this कार्रवाई is being carried out in coordination with various social media platforms through due legal process. Notices have been issued to the concerned platforms directing the removal of all versions of the song—including re-uploads, short videos, and other formats. This step has been taken particularly to curb the spread of objectionable content containing derogatory references towards women and minors.

Haryana Director General of Police, Ajay Singhal, stated that any form of objectionable content undermining the dignity of women and minors will not be tolerated in the state, and strict legal action will continue in cases like “Tateeree.” He further informed that monitoring and enforcement on digital platforms have been strengthened to ensure compliance with the law and to send a strong message across society. The DGP also emphasized that the Haryana Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is fully committed to creating a safe and responsible digital environment, and continuous effective measures are being undertaken jointly by the police and administration in this direction.
Strict Warning Issued to Social Media Users
Additional Director General of Police and Panchkula Commissioner, Shibas Kabiraj, stated that Haryana Police has issued a stern warning to the general public, clearly stating that anyone found creating or sharing reels, shorts, or any other form of video using the banned song will face strict legal action. In such cases, the concerned social media accounts may be blocked or restricted, and repeat offenders will be booked under stringent legal provisions.
Investigation and Legal Action Ongoing
The case is currently under investigation following the registration of an FIR at Cyber Police Station, Sector-20, Panchkula. Police teams are continuously monitoring digital content related to the song and identifying individuals and social media handles involved in its circulation, against whom further legal action is being initiated.
Reiteration of Zero Tolerance Policy
Haryana Police has reiterated its zero tolerance policy against objectionable, misleading, or anti-social content related to women and minors. The police has appealed to citizens to refrain from sharing such content and to immediately report it to the authorities, ensuring that digital platforms remain safe, responsible, and law-abiding.
