New Delhi :  President of India Droupadi Murmu attended the closing ceremony of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Bharat Scouts and Guides and addressed the 19th National Jamboree in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on November 28, 2025.

Speaking at the event, the President said it is a proud moment that for 75 years, Bharat Scouts and Guides has been shaping young minds and encouraging them to take part in nation-building. She highlighted that the organisation’s biggest strength is its spirit of service. Whether during floods, earthquakes, or epidemics, Scouts and Guides are always among the first to help. She also praised the organisation for promoting national unity and preparing young people to be responsible and compassionate citizens.

The President noted that India has over 6.3 million Scouts and Guides, making it one of the largest such organisations in the world. She was especially pleased that more than 2.4 million girls are part of the movement, and congratulated them for choosing a path of discipline, dedication, and service to society.

Talking about the motto “Be Prepared,” the President reminded the youth that they must be ready to face any challenge with confidence. She encouraged them to build skills—such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership—that will help them throughout life.

The President said that the youth are both the builders of India’s future and protectors of its rich cultural heritage. Just as one lamp can light many others, a strong and sensitive individual can inspire many more. She expressed confidence that the young generation will continue to contribute to the nation’s progress.
