– Challans being issued to violators
Gurugram : The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram is continuously taking action to control air pollution and prevent dust in the city. On the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, regular mechanized cleaning of roads and spraying of treated water has been implemented. This action is being carried out under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) implemented by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).
Mechanized cleaning with 18 machines on main roads
18 sweeping machines of the MCG are engaged in removing dust from main roads during the day and night. Special cleaning teams have been deployed on roadsides and debris-affected areas to ensure immediate dust removal. Additionally, municipal tankers are continuously spraying treated water from the sewage treatment plant on roads and open dusty areas.
Continuous monitoring to control dust and pollution
MCG teams are monitoring pollution-causing activities 24 hours a day. Assistant Sanitation Inspectors and Sanitation Security Force teams are patrolling the area. The teams have issued challans to 219 individuals for violating rules and imposed fines totaling ₹110,950. Four vehicles found illegally dumping garbage and debris have been seized and fined ₹100,000.
Continuous spraying in various areas of the city
On Thursday, municipal tankers sprayed treated water in various parts of the city to control dust. These include the car parking area of Vikas Sadan and the Mini Secretariat, Sector 5 Roundabout to Krishna Chowk, Krishna Chowk to Rejangla Chowk, Sector 31/40 Dividing Road, Sector 21 and 22 Internal Road, Basai Road, Sector 57 Sushant Lok-3 to Rajesh Pilot Chowk, Vatika Chowk to Gurjar Chowk, Subhash Chowk to Hero Honda Chowk, Subhash Chowk to Vatika Chowk, Sector 46 Market Road, and Sohna Road.
Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya stated that air pollution control has been given top priority. He stated that the Municipal Corporation is not only conducting mechanized cleaning of roads, but is also regularly spraying treated water in all sensitive areas to prevent dust. Strict action will continue against polluters. The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has also appealed to citizens to refrain from dumping debris or garbage in the open and to contribute to this collective effort to control pollution.
