Patna : The Bharatiya Janata Party today released its first list of 71 candidates for Bihar assembly election 2025. The central leadership has sought to establish both social and organizational balance in selecting candidates for the 71-member list, while also considering the candidates’ winnability. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and party president J.P. Nadda were present at the BJP’s Central Election Committee meeting.
The seats announced in the first list include those going to polls in both phases. Two former MPs are also included in this list: Ramkripal Yadav has been nominated for Danapur and Sunil Kumar Pintu for Sitamarhi. Mithilesh Tiwari, who contested the Lok Sabha elections from Buxar, has been declared the candidate for Baikunthpur in Gopalganj district. The list also includes nine women candidates.
In its first list, the BJP has renominated 61 sitting MLAs, while fielding new candidates in 10 seats.
