– Gurugram Municipal Corporation and Manesar Municipal Corporation launch innovative project in collaboration with Nagaro and AI platform Road Athena
Gurugram : To improve the quality and safety of city roads, the Gurugram Municipal Corporation and the Manesar Municipal Corporation have launched a state-of-the-art AI-based road audit project in collaboration with IT company Nagaro and AI platform Road Athena. This initiative will revolutionize the process of monitoring and maintaining road infrastructure. The project was launched on Saturday in wards 21 and 27 of the Gurugram Municipal Corporation.
How it works – Technology and Process
Under this project, specially equipped vehicles will traverse the city roads, recording high-resolution images and video footage. This data will be sent to the Road Athena AI platform. Using advanced computer vision algorithms, the AI technology will automatically identify and classify road-related issues. The system will accurately identify problems such as potholes, faded or missing road markings, damaged or missing road signs, poor sidewalk conditions, and encroachments on public land.
Revolutionizing Road Maintenance
This technology will provide faster, more accurate, and data-driven reporting, replacing traditional manual surveys. The AI will create a digital map of all identified issues, including geo-tags and severity ratings. This information will be available to municipal officials on a centralized dashboard, enabling them to prioritize and schedule repairs efficiently.
