Gurugram : DC Gurugram and Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority Ajay Kumar has issued an advisory regarding heavy rains in the district. He has advised all corporate and private offices in the district to provide work from home facility to their employees.

The District Magistrate has issued instructions to all the schools in the district to conduct online classes on Tuesday, September 2.

It is noteworthy that in Gurugram today, September 1, from 3 pm to 7 pm, more than 100 mm of rain was recorded. This is the highest rainfall in a day so far.

On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has forecast that on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, there is a possibility of “Orange Alert” heavy to very heavy rain. In such a situation, the administration is taking precautionary measures to avoid traffic jams. Today also, the rain that started after noon jammed the city, while due to traffic chaos and heavy waterlogging on the roads as well as in residential sectors and colonies, public life became chaotic.

The district administration is on alert to deal with the problem of waterlogging due to continuous rain in Gurugram. In view of the continuous heavy rains since 3 pm on Monday, affecting the life of the people, DC and Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority Ajay Kumar issued an important advisory on Monday. The administration has clarified that several precautionary steps are being taken in the district on Tuesday, September 2 to ensure the safety of the citizens and reduce the pressure on essential services.

According to the instructions issued by DC Ajay Kumar, all the corporate and private offices in the district have been appealed to provide work from home facility to their employees. This will not only reduce the traffic pressure on the roads, but the employees will also get relief from the difficulties of commuting to the office in bad weather conditions. Along with this, the district administration has given clear instructions to all the schools to conduct only online classes on September 2. This will ensure the safety of the children and the parents will also not have to face any kind of problem.

According to the Meteorological Department report, more than 100 mm of rainfall was recorded in Gurugram from 3 pm to 7 pm on Monday (01 September). This heavy rain has caused waterlogging in many parts of the city, making movement even more difficult. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the upcoming 2 September. According to the forecast, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected on Tuesday, which may further affect normal life.

DC Ajay Kumar appealed to the citizens and said that the administration is fully alert and teams are on alert for relief and rescue operations. He has requested people not to leave the house without need, follow the advice of the administration and the Meteorological Department. Drainage and pumping systems have been activated in waterlogged areas by civic agencies. Police and disaster management teams are working in coordination. Especially low-line areas and main roads are being monitored so that the traffic system remains completely under control.

DC Ajay Kumar said that the district administration has made preparations at every level to deal with the situation, but this is not possible without the cooperation of the citizens. Therefore, everyone is appealed to maintain patience and vigilance and follow the advice given by the administration from time to time.
