- One acre of government land freed from encroachment, yellow paw on 11 illegal constructions
Gurugram : The enforcement team of Municipal Corporation Gurugram on Wednesday took strict action against encroachment in Zone-1 area and freed about one acre of corporation land in Badshahpur from encroachment. Half an acre of this land was occupied by Tulip Violet Society, while slums were settled on the remaining land.
In this action of the corporation officials, the team conducted a campaign using JCB machines to remove unauthorized constructions and encroachments present on the already marked land. Extensive security arrangements were made during the action, so that no unpleasant situation of any kind arises.
Apart from this, the Municipal Corporation team also demolished 11 unauthorized under-construction buildings in Avenue 69 Colony by running bulldozers. All these constructions were being done without permission, which is a violation of the building construction bylaws of the Municipal Corporation.
This action was taken under the leadership of Duty Magistrate and Assistant Engineer R.K. Mongia and Junior Engineer Varun Vashisht and Patwari Sunil. The Municipal Corporation had already warned the concerned people by issuing notices, but this strict action was taken after not receiving any satisfactory reply within the stipulated time limit.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said that any kind of encroachment on government land will not be tolerated. He said, “It is our priority to make the city free from illegal construction and encroachment. The corporation teams are regularly monitoring and wherever violation of rules is found, strict action will be taken.” Municipal Corporation Gurugram appeals to the citizens not to do any kind of illegal construction and avoid encroachment on government land.
