-Child Welfare Council organized Hariyali Teej Festival at Jagannath Ashram Balgrih
Gurugram : Hariyali Teej Festival was celebrated with great joy and traditional enthusiasm on Saturday at Jagannath Ashram Balgrih run by District Child Welfare Council, Gurugram. Dr. Loveleen Kaur, IRS, Vice President of District Child Welfare Council, attended the program as the chief guest and encouraged the girls living in the Balgrih.
Dr. Loveleen Kaur said that the festival of Teej not only reflects the richness of Indian culture, but it is also the beginning of a series of festivals throughout the year. This festival is celebrated as a festival of women power, nature and greenery. She enjoyed traditional folk songs with the girls of the Balgrih and also shared the happiness of the festival with the children by swinging on a swing. Traditional dishes of Teej were also prepared on this occasion.
While informing the children and women present about the importance of Indian cultural values and festivals, he said that by celebrating such festivals with joy and social participation, we keep our traditions alive. After this, he also took stock of the facilities provided to the children in the children’s home.
Divisional Child Welfare Officer Kamlesh Shastri welcomed the Vice President of the District Child Welfare Council. He told that various activities are conducted for the welfare of children under the able leadership of Dr. Sushma Gupta, Honorary General Secretary of Haryana State Child Welfare Council and under the guidance of District Child Welfare Council President and DC Ajay Kumar.
In the Teej Mahotsav, the girls and women of the children’s home sang folk songs, performed dances and swung in traditional attire. Everyone also enjoyed the traditional dishes of Teej.
On this occasion, District Child Welfare Officer Mrs. Surekha Hooda and all the staff and children living in the children’s home were present.
