-Chief Engineer Vijay Dhaka will have Responsibility of Member Secretary

Gurugram : Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya has constituted Sewerage Management Cell (SMC) with the aim of ensuring better monitoring and management of sewerage operation and maintenance in Municipal Corporation Gurugram area. This cell will play an important role in transparency, timely implementation, and long-term planning in the sewerage system on behalf of the Municipal Corporation.

Under the orders issued by the Municipal Commissioner on Monday, the nodal officer of SMC will be Additional Municipal Commissioner-1 Yash Jaluka and Chief Engineer Vijay Dhaka has been made the Member Secretary in the cell. Apart from these, Chief Town Planner Sanjeev Mann, all Executive Engineers and Tehsildar Harikesh Gupta have been included as members. Assistant Engineer Manoj Ahlawat will provide assistance to the nodal officer along with his current responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities of SMC

The SMC constituted by the Municipal Commissioner will regularly and effectively monitor sewerage operation and maintenance and will play its role in resolving problems related to sewerage operation along with ensuring timely payment of related bills. Apart from this, the SMC has also been given the responsibility of planning and executing the tender process keeping in mind the future requirements and identifying suitable land for new sewerage projects.

The Municipal Commissioner has directed all the officers and employees of Municipal Corporation Gurugram to provide full cooperation and support in the work being done by the SMC so that the sewerage system can be made better, sustainable and public welfare. This initiative is an important step towards strengthening the urban infrastructure and providing a clean and healthy environment to the citizens.
