Enforcement Directorate Arrests Former Bhupesh Baghel’s Son Chaitanya Baghel

New Delhi : In the Rs 3200 crore liquor scam in Chhattisgarh, the Enforcement Directorate raided the house of former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel. ED has arrested Bhupesh Baghel’s son Chaitanya Baghel.

Speaking with Media Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that ” Last time ED was sent on my birthday in 2023. Today, Adani’s case is to be discussed in the Chhattisgarh assembly, so to please their master, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah sent ED to my house. BJP is trying to suppress opposition leaders across the country, trying to kill democracy. But we are not going to be afraid and bow down. No matter how much force these people use – Bhupesh Baghel will neither break nor bow down. ”

Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s son Chaitanya Baghel is also associated with the Congress, but has not yet stepped into politics. He does not hold any post at present. Between 2018 and 2023, when Bhupesh Baghel was the Chief Minister, Chaitanya Baghel was planning to enter politics, but then the Congress government did not return in the 2024 assembly elections.

When Bhupesh Baghel was given a ticket by the Congress from Rajnandgaon seat in the Lok Sabha elections, there was speculation that Chaitanya would get a ticket from his assembly seat Patan. However, this could not happen after Bhupesh Baghel lost. Earlier, Chaitanya Baghel was associated with real estate. Now he is handling family farming.

Former Excise Minister and Kota MLA Kawasi Lakhma has been arrested in the Chhattisgarh liquor scam case. At the same time, the Enforcement Directorate has also taken action against former Raipur Mayor Aijaz Dhebar’s brother, former IAS officer Anil Tuteja and former MD of the Excise Department. ED has reportedly found out that the money from the liquor scam has been invested in the properties of Chaitanya Baghel and his close associates.
