New Delhi : India hosted the 2nd BIMSTEC Ports Conclave in Visakhapatnam based on the theme ‘Navigating the Future: Blue Economy, Innovation & Sustainable Partnerships’, in line with its Neighbourhood First policy.
The information is shared by Randhir jaiswal, Official Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs, India. On his social media plateform X, he said that the Conclave saw participation of delegations of the BIMSTEC member States, comprising officials, maritime experts, port authorities, private sector leaders & regional development partners.
He said that discussions focused on diverse issues- harmonising customs procedures & enhancing logistical links to boost trade, tourism, digital integration, industry-academia ties, green shipping, etc. This initiative will further strengthen maritime cooperation in the Bay of Bengal region.
