Biometric Attendance Mandatory for all Officers and Employees of MCG : Pradeep Dahiya

Gurugram : Municipal Corporation Gurugram has taken a big step towards strengthening the disciplinary system of the workplace and making the attendance system transparent. Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya has instructed all branches that all officers and employees of the Municipal Corporation must compulsorily mark their attendance through biometric system.

The Municipal Commissioner clarified that from now on, it will be mandatory for all branches, zone offices, engineering branch and field level employees to mark their attendance in biometric system while coming and going to the office. This step has been taken with the aim of making the work culture more transparent, accountable and timely.

If any officer or employee fails to register biometric attendance, he will be considered absent and necessary departmental action will be taken against him. The Municipal Commissioner has instructed the concerned branch heads to ensure that all employees follow this system and any kind of negligence should be taken seriously.

Municipal Corporation Gurugram is constantly bringing technological innovation in its functioning. Effective implementation of biometric attendance system will not only ensure timely attendance of employees, but will also improve the quality and timeliness of services provided to citizens.

In addition, it has now been made mandatory for sanitation workers working in Municipal Corporation Gurugram to mark attendance on the SWM monitoring portal. If an employee does not mark his attendance on the portal, his salary can be stopped.

The Municipal Commissioner said that punctuality and accountability are the hallmarks of any administrative institution. Better services can be provided to citizens only when employees discharge their duties with full devotion. This initiative of Municipal Corporation Gurugram is a concrete step towards promoting discipline in workplaces as well as providing timely services to citizens. This decision will also strengthen administrative transparency.
