– The progress of the city’s infrastructure and development projects was reviewed

Gurugram : The first district level coordination meeting was organized in the conference hall of Mini Secretariat on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Principal Advisor of Haryana Government D.S. Dhesi. Senior officials of various departments including GMDA, MCG, MCM, HSVP and HSIIDC participated in the meeting. The objective of the meeting was to review the progress of the development projects going on in the city and to establish better coordination between the departments.
GMDA CEO Shyamal Mishra, Divisional Commissioner R.C. Bidhan, DC Ajay Kumar along with officials of Municipal Corporation Gurugram and Manesar, HSVP, NHAI, Traffic Police and other departments were present in the meeting.
Principal Advisor D.S. Dhesi said that all the authorities will have to work in coordination and speed up the development of infrastructure in the city to strengthen civic amenities. He especially emphasized on the works related to maintenance of roads, rain relief management, water supply, solid waste management and sewerage network.
Road infrastructure will get speed
It was told in the meeting that till now this year 95 km of master roads have been renovated by GMDA, while 44 km of internal roads have been repaired by the Municipal Corporation. He directed that new roads should be identified and estimates should be prepared on time so that repair work can be done in a timely manner.
Plan to build a flyover at Dadi Sati Chowk
In the meeting, the concerned officials told that to reduce traffic jam, GMDA presented a plan to build a flyover at Dadi Sati Chowk connecting Sector 85-86-89-90. It was told that the DPR of this project is being prepared and the tender process will start soon.
Special emphasis on monsoon preparations
Joint efforts are being made by GMDA, Municipal Corporation Gurugram and Manesar to deal with waterlogging in the city. A flood control center is being set up by GMDA which will ensure the arrangement of machinery, laborers and pump sets in case of emergency. Mock drills have also been conducted at all underpasses. All the bodies are getting the drains cleaned in their respective areas.
New initiative for drainage in Narsinghpur
In the meeting, the CEO of GMDA informed that to solve the problem of waterlogging in Narsinghpur area, a raw drain is being constructed by GMDA which will be connected to Badshahpur drain. NHAI was also instructed to complete the cleaning work of three culverts built on the national highway on priority.
Strategy for waste management and C&D waste
In the meeting, there was also a detailed discussion on the strategy related to disposal of old garbage deposited in Bandhwari, solid waste management and construction and demolition (C&D) waste. In this context, all the concerned bodies were instructed to monitor the garbage vulnerable points and strengthen the system of door-to-door garbage collection.
Sewerage and water supply solution in Naurangpur
During this meeting, the problem of damage to the roads due to waterlogging in Naurangpur village was also discussed. Manesar Municipal Corporation has installed a mobile STP in the village and the remaining water is being released into the green belt. GMDA is laying a master sewerage network to which the internal sewerage line of Naurangpur will be connected.
Boosting station ready to improve water supply in Sector 85-115
While reviewing the status of the boosting station built in Sector 72, it was told that the work of laying the pipeline has been completed and the cabling work of pumping machinery is in progress. This station will be started by September, which will improve water supply in the tail end areas from Sector 85 to 115.
Kherki Daula toll will be shifted to Panchgaon
NHAI officials informed that the plan to shift Kherki Daula toll from NH-48 to Panchgaon has been approved and this work will be completed within three months.
Better use of CCTV system should be ensured
The CCTV system installed by GMDA is being used to the maximum for traffic management and challan system. The police department was instructed to make maximum use of them for security and surveillance. Along with this, the Municipal Corporation was also advised to use it in garbage management monitoring.
