Gurugram : According to the notification issued by Haryana Raj Bhavan Chandigarh, Governor and Chancellor of the University Bandaru Dattatreya has handed over the charge of Vice Chancellor of Gurugram University to Dr. Sanjay Kaushik. Senior educationist Professor Sanjay Kaushik, who received Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Shiksha Samman Award by Genius Brain and HRD Mission, Delhi for his excellent work in the field of education, took charge as Vice Chancellor of Gurugram University on Tuesday.
He has become the third Vice Chancellor of the University, he has replaced Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar, who was looking after the additional charge of Vice Chancellor from 27-01-2025 after the tenure of Prof. Dinesh Kumar ended. Professor Sanjay Kaushik said that his main objective would be to get the university global recognition. Preparing the university for NAAC accreditation, and speeding up the ongoing academic and infrastructure development projects are among his top priorities. The newly appointed Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Kaushik is working as a Professor in University Business School, Punjab University, Chandigarh. He has 35 years of academic and administrative experience. Dr. Kaushik was the Director of North Western Region, ICSSR for 7 years.
The newly appointed Vice Chancellor Dr. Kaushik was discharging the post of PL Tandon Chair Professor of Strategic Management, and Dean College Development Council in Punjab University, Chandigarh. Prof. Kaushik has also been a member of the Executive Council / BOS / BOC / Academic Council of many universities. Dr. Sanjay Kaushik has served on posts such as former Chairperson, University Business School, Punjab University; former Dean (Representative), Faculty of Business Management and Commerce, Punjab University; former Nominated Member, Senate, Punjab University; former Dean, Faculty of Management, Punjab Technical University. Under the guidance of the Vice Chancellor, 35 students have completed their PhD and 6 students are pursuing their PhD.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Kaushik has been awarded Him Ratna-2023 Award by Pratibha Spandan Society, Shimla for his outstanding contribution in the field of management, education, research and social work; Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Best Teacher and Research Award-2020 by Association of Research and Advanced Studies, Punjab; PCMA Young Researcher Award-2015 by PCMA, Punjab; Outstanding Research Award-2012 by Economic Development and Research Organization, Punjab. On this occasion, Gurugram University Registrar Dr. Sanjay Arora, former Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Sushil Tomar, former Registrar Dr. Rajiv Kumar and senior officials of the University were also present.
