Sikh Museum and Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Museum to be built in Stipulated Time Frame : Naib Singh Saini

New Delhi : Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that in order to preserve the heritage of the Gurus and to spread their life philosophy and ideals to the people, the works of Sikh Museum and Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Museum being built in Kurukshetra should be ensured to be completed within the stipulated time frame so that the coming generations can take inspiration from the Gurus and make a meaningful contribution in nation building.

Chief Minister Shri Saini was chairing a meeting held here today to review the progress of construction works of Sikh Museum and Guru Ravidas Museum to be built in Kurukshetra.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed that the Sikh Museum in Kurukshetra should be constructed in such a way that it presents a complete glimpse of Sikh history, culture and the contribution of the Gurus. He said that the museum should compulsorily include information about all those places in Haryana where Sikh Gurus have set their feet, so that the people of the state and especially the young generation can get information about the spiritual, social and historical contribution of the Gurus. The Chief Minister also said that the historical battles fought by the Sikh Gurus against the atrocities of the Mughal rulers for the protection of religion, justice and establishment of human values ​​should also be depicted in a realistic manner in the museum, so that that saga of sacrifice and struggle remains a source of inspiration for centuries. He also suggested that an expert committee should be formed for factual documentation of Sikh history, which should include experienced historians, professors of reputed universities and learned personalities associated with the Sahitya Akademi, who can ensure the authenticity and quality of the museum’s content.

Similarly, emphasizing the need for a grand construction of the Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Museum, the Chief Minister said that this museum should not only be made grand from the architectural point of view, but its content should also effectively present the life philosophy, spiritual thoughts and message of social harmony of Sant Ravidas ji. He said that for this a committee should be formed, which should include such scholars who have been doing in-depth study and research of the life, teachings, ideals of Guru Ravidas ji and the work done by him for the welfare of humanity.

The Chief Minister said that the 350th year of Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur ji is being celebrated in the coming month of November. He said that planned preparations should be started from now to celebrate this auspicious occasion on a large scale with grandeur and reverence so that this program not only becomes historically memorable but the message of the immortal saga, sacrifice and sacrifice of the Sikh Gurus can reach every section of the society in an effective manner. Seminars, yatras and other commemorative events should be organized on this occasion across the state so that the society can be connected with the saga of martyrdom and sacrifice of the Gurus.

It was told in the meeting that three acres of land for the Sikh Museum and five acres of land for the Guru Ravidas Museum have been provided by the Haryana Urban Development Authority. Now the necessary processes are being given priority to start the construction work of these projects soon.

Makrand Pandurang, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Yashpal Yadav, Director General of Archeology and Museum Department Amit Khatri, Chief Administrator of HSVP Chandrashekhar Khare, OSD to Chief Minister Bharat Bhushan Bharti, OSD Dr. Prabhleen Singh and Deputy Commissioner of Kurukshetra Neha Singh along with other officers were also present in the meeting.
