DC Ajay Kumar Reviewed the Drainage works, gave Necessary Guidelines to the Officials

– DC said, NHAI should ensure cleaning of surface drains on both sides of the expressway from Sarhaul border to Manesar within the stipulated time period

Gurugram : DC Ajay Kumar on Wednesday chaired a review meeting with the aim of strengthening the drainage system in Gurugram. Senior officials of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and Municipal Corporation Gurugram were present in the meeting.

During the meeting, after taking the work progress report from both the departments so far, DC Ajay Kumar gave clear instructions that no laxity should be shown in the ongoing work to deal with waterlogging. He said that both the departments of GMDA and Municipal Corporation should ensure to send the report of the work progress along with photos to his office every day, so that the work can be monitored in a timely and transparent manner.

DC Ajay Kumar also said that in some areas of the city, local people are dumping household waste in sewerage and drains, which is obstructing water drainage. He directed the Municipal Corporation to identify such places and increase its resources there and ensure cleaning every day. Also, special campaigns should be run to make the general public aware of this subject.

Apart from this, the DC directed the GMDA officials to coordinate with the NHAI officials and get the surface drains cleaned on both sides of the expressway from Sarhaul border to Manesar. The final report of this work should also be sent to his office in time.

The DC said that in view of the upcoming rainy season in Gurugram, all the departments should work with full readiness and coordination, so that the problem of waterlogging can be effectively prevented. He also directed the officials to be active in the field and prompt redressal of complaints.

DCP Traffic Rajesh Mohan, CEO District Council Jagnivas, trainee IAS Ankita Singhania, GMDA’s XEN Vikram, Haryana CSR Trust’s Additional CEO Gaurav Singh, Project Officer Poonam from District Disaster Management and other officers were present in the meeting.
