Dance,Music and Play Marked ‘Loke Jatra’

MOTIHARI: The unprecedented congregation of artists belonging to folk and traditional songs all around the country and there sparking performances marked the concluding day of five days much hyped ‘ Loke Yatra’ started from Champaran to commemorate Gandhi and his ‘ Satyagrah Centenary’ in Bihar.

Organized in the premises of Rajendra Nagar Bhawan, Motihari jointly by Culture ministry of Government of India and Art and Culture and Youth Minister of Bihar, Song and Drama division portrayed the live picture of rich cultural diversities of Bihar , Utter Pradesh, Madhyapradesh and Assam and its rare and near extinction a numbers of traditional songs.

Whether it is Sama Chekwa, Jhijhia , Holi , Kathdhorba, Allah and Rudal, Pamaria, Jat Jatin in Bihar, Lai Lam Lokwa of Manipur, Pandwani of Chatish Garh, Kalbelia of Rajasthan, Satwan Savitri and Netua dance of Bihar all left spellbound the music lovers turned up in good numbers in the function.

On the concluding day , Magahi folk traditional songs performed by Nalanda Sangeet Kala Vikash Sansthan , a Jhumar geet sung by Shruti and Simran of Patna, Kalbelia of Rajasthan by Neha Kasautia and Company enthralled the audience .

Radhamohan singh ,Union Agriculture Minister and MP , Motihari underlined the Centers initiatives in giving boost to art and culture in the nation. He thanked the artiest participated the function.

Noted folk Songstress and members of song and drama division , New Delhi  Nitu Kumari Nutan told folk lore and songs is synthesizing and understanding people and their creations in their own terms. Song and drams division is committed to revive rare traditional songs of the nation.

MLA Pramod Kumar , Nagar Parishad chairman Prakash Asthana, Dr Bharti Mehta, state spokes persons of JDU and also members of Song and Drama division and retired deputy secretary of government of India Ram Udgar Mahto also attended the function.
