Gurugram, March 28 : Union Minister of State for Statistics, Program Implementation, Planning Rao Indrajit Singh chaired the meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee of Gurugram on Friday. This meeting was held in the conference hall located in the Mini Secretariat. During this, he dedicated development works worth about Rs 14 crore to the public. Under CSR, it includes providing medical equipment to the Civil Hospital of Gurugram, establishment of study centre and vocational training programme for the students of underprivileged class and inauguration of the pond of Faridpur village, 37 development works at a cost of Rs 326.69 lakh under MPLAD scheme by the Development and Panchayat Department and inauguration of 33 development works at a cost of Rs 833.01 lakh under HGVY scheme.

While chairing the meeting, Rao Indrajit Singh said that the public representatives and officers should reach the necessary schemes to the people with mutual coordination. Whatever schemes are being run for the development of the people, eligible persons should be benefited from those schemes, he said that the officers/executing agencies should complete the development programmes and public welfare schemes with coordination, transparency and timeliness. Expressing concern over the falling groundwater level in Gurugram, he directed the district administration to take measures to improve the groundwater level. Rao said that Gurugram is a rapidly developing district in terms of development, so serious efforts are needed to improve the groundwater level here. He said that for the water that is released into the Najafgarh drain during the rainy season, proper arrangements should be made in the district itself, and work should be done on options to recharge the groundwater level.

The Union Minister reviewed the points of waterlogging, said that he will personally review the preparations before the monsoon

The Union Minister, while seeking answers from the officials on the problem of waterlogging in the district during the monsoon, said that every year the officials make necessary preparations regarding the problem of waterlogging before the monsoon, but despite this,

a permanent solution to the problem is not being found at the identified places. Giving information to the Union Minister about the measures being taken to solve the problem of waterlogging, the GMDA officials said that the work of cleaning all the drains is going on continuously, which will be completed by the month of June. DC Ajay Kumar said that earlier the number of critical waterlogging points in the district was 34. Which has now reduced to 13. He said that work is going on towards the solution of waterlogging points in village Narsinghpur. There is a case of land litigation at one place. Which will soon have a meaningful conclusion. The Union Minister said that he will personally come and review the preparations before the monsoon. During this, Rao also directed to find a permanent solution to the submerged land of farmers near Najafgarh drain.

The officials of the corporation and GMDA should ensure that the proposed shooting range in village Kadarpur is completed with mutual coordination.

Rao Indrajit Singh said that a shooting range has been proposed in village Kadarpur for a long time. Since now this village has gone to the corporation. In such a situation, the officials of the corporation and GMDA should consider the options to complete this project with mutual coordination and move forward in this direction. While reviewing the CSR fund, he said that Gurugram is the highest revenue-generating district of Haryana. In such a situation, the concerned officials should try to improve the necessary and basic facilities here with CSR funds. The Union Minister expressed displeasure over the slow progress of work on the Gurugram-Pataudi-Rewari National Highway and said that due to delay in the development project, the citizens have to face a lot of trouble, which is not tolerable in any way. On the deadline of completion of the said highway set by the Union Minister, the NHAI official said that this work will be completed 100 percent by the end of this year.

Plan parking space according to the increasing population of the city

The Union Minister, while reviewing the parking being built in Sadar Bazar, said that this city is a growing city. In such a situation, there is not enough parking space according to the increasing population. He said that the corporation officials should build parking spaces at the identified places keeping in mind the future needs. In the meeting, the XEN of the Municipal Corporation told that the work of multi-storey parking building near the mosque in Sadar Bazar has been completed.

The Union Minister said that the corporation officials should also consider the options of creating a new parking space on the vacant land near Mor Chowk. During this period, the Union Minister took a detailed report from the concerned officials regarding the proposed route of Haryana Orbit Rail and Gurugram Metro expansion, clearing of Bandhwari landfill site and the proposed new bus stand of Gurugram and gave necessary guidelines to them.

In the meeting, DC Ajay Kumar assured the Union Minister on behalf of the district administration that all the schemes will be worked on at a fast pace and the benefits will be provided to the beneficiaries.
On this occasion, Manesar Mayor Dr. Indrajit Yadav, Municipal Corporation Gurugram Commissioner Ashok Garg, ADC Hitesh Kumar Meena, Municipal Corporation Manesar Commissioner Renu Sogan and other district administration officials were present.
