New Delhi : President of India Draupadi Murmu has appoint Justice Harish Tandon, Judge of the Calcutta High Court as Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.
Following the constitutional provision President Murmu has appointed him on the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium. The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended his name to appoint him the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court . Justice Tandon is currently the senior-most judge in the Calcutta High Court.
The post of Chief Justice of Odisha High Court was vacant since January 19 as Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh retired and Justice Arindam Sinha was performing the duties as the acting Chief Justice. The Supreme Court Collegium also recommended Justice Arindam Sinha’s transfer to Allahabad High Court.
