CDM_IDS Team Studies Thailand’s Defence Manufacturing and Technology Capabilities, Naval Infrastructure and Amphibious Operations
New Delhi : As part of the ongoing India-Thailand Military Cooperation (ISMT) engagement, a delegation from the College of Defence Management (CDM), IDS, visited key defence establishments in Thailand to gain insights into the country’s defence manufacturing, technological capabilities and operational preparedness.
During the visit, the delegation toured Thailand’s Chaiseri Defence Manufacturing Unit and the Defence Technology Institute, where the team familiarised itself with the country’s defence production capabilities and technological advancements.
The programme also included visits to Naval Base Sattahip, HTMS Chang and the Royal Thai Marine Corps Headquarters. These interactions provided the delegation with valuable exposure to Thailand’s naval infrastructure, maritime capabilities and amphibious operational arrangements.
The series of engagements facilitated a deeper understanding of each other’s defence capabilities and operational practices while opening up further opportunities to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation between India and Thailand.
