New Delhi : US Secretary of State Marco Rubio underscored the importance of maritime and food security in ensuring economic stability while addressing the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, International media reports said.
In a statement shared on his official social media handle, Rubio said he had made it clear during the meeting that secure maritime routes and reliable food supplies are essential drivers of economic security.
He added that, under the Trump administration’s America First agenda, the United States is encouraging its international partners to work towards protecting vital shipping lanes, strengthening food security and minimising the economic fallout of geopolitical crises.
Rubio’s remarks highlighted Washington’s emphasis on safeguarding global trade networks and food supply chains against disruptions arising from international tensions and conflicts.
