Properties belonging to Secom Limited, Techpro Systems and Saiexpo Overseas Private Limited sealed; property tax arrears of over ₹1.51 crore outstanding against four properties
Gurugram, October 5: The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) is continuing enforcement action against property owners who have failed to pay their outstanding property tax dues. As part of this drive, the Corporation’s enforcement teams on Monday sealed four properties in Zones 5 and 6 for non-payment of property tax.
According to Municipal Corporation records, a total of ₹1,51,64,104 in property tax is outstanding against these four properties. As part of the action, two properties were sealed in Zone 5 and two in Zone 6.
Two Properties Sealed in Zone 5
During the enforcement action in Zone 5, properties belonging to Secom Limited, Sector 16, and Techpro Systems Private Limited, JMD Pacific Square, Sector 16, were sealed.
The property tax outstanding against Secom Limited is ₹83,56,982, while ₹37,59,951 is outstanding against Techpro Systems Private Limited.
Two Properties of Saiexpo Overseas Private Limited Sealed in Zone 6
Enforcement action was also taken against a property tax defaulter in Zone 6. The Corporation’s team sealed two properties belonging to Saiexpo Overseas Private Limited in Sector 61.
The outstanding property tax on SF-27 at Centre One is ₹15,15,723, while ₹15,31,448 is outstanding on FF-18.
Appeal to Property Owners to Pay Property Tax on Time
Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya has directed the concerned property owners to deposit their outstanding property tax dues within the prescribed period before further action is taken as per rules.
In cases where the outstanding tax is not paid within the stipulated time, the Municipal Corporation will take further action in accordance with the applicable provisions.
The Municipal Corporation has appealed to all property owners to pay their property tax on time and regularly check their property tax details and outstanding dues.
Focus on Strengthening the Municipal Revenue System
Property tax is one of the major sources of revenue for the Municipal Corporation. The revenue generated through property tax is utilised for improving sanitation, roads, drainage, street lighting, public amenities and other civic services in the city.
The Municipal Corporation is focusing on strengthening property tax collection and taking enforcement action against defaulters in accordance with the rules. The objective is to encourage taxpayers to make timely payments and ensure recovery of outstanding revenue.
The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has appealed to all property owners to pay their property tax on time and contribute towards the development of the city and the improvement of civic amenities.
