Under Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya’s directions, officials to conduct field visits from 10 AM to 12 noon; lime application made mandatory after daily cleaning of Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs)

Gurugram, October 5: To make the city’s sanitation system more effective and streamlined, field-level monitoring by senior officials has been strengthened. In compliance with directions issued by Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, all Additional Municipal Commissioners and Joint Commissioners are now required to remain in the field every day from 10 AM to 12 noon to inspect sanitation arrangements and issue necessary directions on the spot.

As part of this initiative, on Monday, Additional Municipal Commissioners Ankita Chaudhary, Ravinder Yadav, Dr. Jaiveer Yadav and Kushal Kataria, along with Joint Commissioners Dr. Naresh Kumar, Ravinder Malik and Dr. Ashish Singla, visited various areas to assess the sanitation situation.

Lime Application Mandatory After Cleaning of GVPs

During their visits, the officials inspected various Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs) and reviewed the status of waste lifting from these locations. The concerned sanitation teams were directed to ensure adequate and regular cleaning of all GVPs.

The officials made it clear that lime must be applied at the site after waste is removed from a GVP. This will help reduce the possibility of waste being dumped again and ensure that these locations remain clean and orderly. Emphasis was also laid on regular monitoring of these sites.

Public Representatives and Residents Participate in Cleanliness Drives

Along with improving the Municipal Corporation’s sanitation system, public participation is also being encouraged in various areas. On Monday, public representatives, municipal officials, ward committee members, local residents and sanitation workers jointly conducted cleanliness drives and participated in voluntary community service.

Senior Deputy Mayor Dharmbir Bhangrola, along with Joint Commissioner Dr. Naresh Kumar and local residents, participated in a cleanliness drive in the Shivji Park area. He joined residents in the cleanliness activities and appealed to citizens to actively contribute towards maintaining cleanliness.

Similarly, Municipal Councillor Parminder Kataria, along with Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr. Jaiveer Yadav and local residents, conducted a cleanliness drive in Ward 35. The active participation of citizens in these campaigns sent an important message about transforming cleanliness into a people’s movement.

Focus on Coordination with Public Representatives, Ward Committees and RWAs

Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya has directed all officials to remain in the field during the designated hours every day and closely monitor sanitation activities.

Officials have also been instructed to maintain regular communication with public representatives, ward committee members and Resident Welfare Association (RWA) representatives. The objective is to identify local-level sanitation issues and ensure their resolution at the earliest, preferably on the spot.

Sanitation teams are also being provided with necessary directions to ensure regular and effective cleaning in their respective assigned areas.

Special Focus on Delhi-Jaipur Expressway and Sector 29

The Municipal Commissioner has directed officials to ensure a particularly high standard of cleanliness along the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway, Sector 29 and surrounding areas.

There should be no construction and demolition (C&D) waste, horticulture waste or other garbage visible in these important areas. Officials have been instructed to monitor these locations regularly and ensure immediate removal of any waste found there.

The objective is to keep the city’s major entry points and prominent public areas clean, presentable and well-maintained.

Field Monitoring to Further Strengthen Sanitation System

The daily presence of senior officials in the field will enable direct monitoring of the actual sanitation situation and help identify shortcomings in cleaning operations for immediate corrective action.

The monitoring mechanism for cleaning GVPs, lifting waste, applying lime and preventing repeated dumping of garbage is also being strengthened.

Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said that keeping the city clean and well-organised is a top priority of the Municipal Corporation. He said all senior officials have been directed to remain in the field every day and monitor sanitation arrangements.

He added that merely cleaning a site is not enough; it is equally important to ensure that the location remains clean after the cleaning operation. Therefore, lime application after cleaning GVPs and regular monitoring of these sites will be ensured.

The Commissioner further said that the collective participation of public representatives, ward committee members, RWA representatives, local residents and municipal employees can further strengthen the city’s sanitation system.

The Municipal Corporation is committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness along Gurugram’s major roads, markets, residential areas and public places.
