Pune: India and Brazil have taken another step towards expanding their digital partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in telecommunications and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the BRICS ICT Track Meeting in Pune by Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and Brazil’s Minister of Communications Frederico de Siqueira Filho.
The MoU establishes a framework for both countries to exchange knowledge, experience and best practices and explore mutually beneficial opportunities in the rapidly evolving digital and telecommunications sectors.
The partnership will focus on areas including digital innovation, digital infrastructure, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, universal connectivity, Digital Public Infrastructure and capacity building.
The agreement is expected to strengthen technology collaboration between the two countries while encouraging greater cooperation on building secure, inclusive and resilient digital ecosystems.
The signing also reflects the broader India-Brazil strategic partnership and their shared interest in leveraging telecommunications and emerging technologies to support digital inclusion, innovation and sustainable economic growth.
