New Delhi: Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met him to discuss measures to strengthen foodgrain management in the state.
The meeting focused on the liquidation of Central Pool stocks, timely movement of rice and wheat, and ensuring adequate storage capacity in Punjab. The discussions also covered preparations for the upcoming procurement season and measures required to ensure smooth handling of foodgrains.
Pralhad Joshi said that the necessary measures have been taken to ensure smooth procurement and storage of paddy during the Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2026–27. He said these steps are aimed at supporting Punjab’s farmers and ensuring a seamless and efficient procurement season.
