New Delhi : The 12th Session of the India-Russia Working Group on Modernization and Industrial Cooperation was held on August 7, 2026, at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, under the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation.
The meeting was co-chaired by Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, from the Indian side, and H.E. Mr. Alexey Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, from the Russian side.
The two sides reviewed progress since the 11th session and discussed cooperation across modernization, mining, fertilizers and railway transport. Key areas included modern industrialisation, science and technology, aerospace, railway infrastructure, mineral fertilizers and chemicals, rare earths and critical minerals, power engineering, industrial infrastructure, mining equipment, aluminium and joint production of urea.
The two countries also welcomed new areas of cooperation in railway infrastructure, the Vande Bharat train project and signalling equipment. Discussions also covered UAVs, 3-D printing, production of Russia’s SJ-100 regional aircraft, aero-engines, carbon-fibre technologies and propulsion systems.
Further cooperation was discussed in DAP/NPK fertilizer supplies, automation, lithium mining, titanium technologies, critical minerals, aluminium, mining equipment and exploration of rare earth elements.
The Protocol of the 12th Session was signed by both co-chairs, reaffirming the strategic India-Russia partnership and their commitment to deepening industrial and economic cooperation. Around 60 delegates from both countries participated in the session.
