India–United States Air Chiefs Hold Talks to Strengthen Defence Cooperation, IAF Chief A. P. Singh Flies F-15EX Eagle II During Key U.S. Visit

New Delhi : Defence ties between United States and India received a significant boost as U.S. Air Force Chief Kenneth Wilsbach hosted Indian Air Force Chief A. P. Singh on April 8 in Arlington, International media reported.

Reports said that during the visit, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh was accorded full military honors and held high-level discussions with senior U.S. defence officials. The talks focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation through increased joint training exercises, improving interoperability between the two air forces, and advancing collaboration in emerging defence technologies. Key areas of discussion also included the procurement and operational aspects of MQ-9B SkyGuardian drones, as well as ongoing modernization initiatives within the Indian Air Force.

Reportedly , the visit further highlighted the shared strategic focus of both nations on strengthening cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining a free, open, and secure regional order through closer military coordination and capacity building.

As part of the itinerary, the Indian Air Force Chief visited Peterson Space Force Base and Nellis Air Force Base, where he was briefed on advanced operational capabilities and space-domain integration.

In a notable highlight of the visit, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh also undertook a familiarization flight in the advanced F-15EX Eagle II, gaining first-hand experience of the aircraft’s capabilities. The visit underscored the growing depth of defence engagement between India and the United States, particularly in the areas of air power cooperation and strategic alignment.
