Gurugram : A large-scale awareness program was organized under the ‘Pollution-Free Gurugram’ campaign through a joint initiative of the Municipal Corporation Gurugram and DPG ITM College. The event aimed to educate and inspire youth to contribute toward building a clean, green, and pollution-free city.
Dr. Naresh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation Gurugram, attended the program as the Chief Guest. Other prominent attendees included Ward 16 Councilor Vikram Jeet Singh, Swachhata Brand Ambassador Kuldeep Hindustani, and Prinka Yadav from the NGO ‘Buland Awaaz’.
The program began with a welcome ceremony led by College Director Prof. Dr. R.C. Kuhad and Registrar T.R. Narula, who honored the guests with saplings, highlighting the importance of tree plantation in environmental conservation.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Naresh Kumar emphasized the critical role of waste segregation in maintaining cleanliness and urged students to adopt the practice of separating wet and dry waste at home and in their communities.
Councilor Vikram Jeet Singh spoke about the harmful impact of polythene and encouraged students to switch to eco-friendly alternatives such as cloth or jute bags, noting that small individual efforts can lead to significant change.
Prinka Yadav highlighted the importance of the “3R” principle—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—and stressed that its adoption in daily life can bring meaningful improvements in environmental protection.
The program concluded with Kuldeep Hindustani administering a cleanliness pledge to the students, who committed to maintaining hygiene and actively participating in environmental conservation efforts.
The event was successfully supported by the HMS team, including Akshay, Aniruddha, Himanshu, and Praveen, along with the college management, faculty, and students. The initiative effectively raised awareness and motivated participants to contribute toward a cleaner Gurugram.
