New Delhi : Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, Iran’s military has claimed it shot down a U.S. A-10 attack aircraft near the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. According to reports by Al Jazeera, the incident reportedly took place in the southern sector of the crucial maritime corridor, which carries a significant share of global oil shipments.

Iranian media outlets, including Tasnim News Agency, stated that the aircraft was targeted over the region. However, the United States has not officially confirmed the claim. So far, neither the Pentagon nor the White House has issued a statement on the alleged downing of the A-10.

In a separate development, another incident has intensified the situation further. Reports indicate that a U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet crashed within Iranian territory. According to CNN, one crew member has been safely recovered by U.S. forces and is currently undergoing medical treatment, while search operations are still underway for the second crew member.

The F-15E is known to operate with a two-person crew. Visual evidence released by Iranian media, including images and videos from the crash site, has been verified by CNN as belonging to an F-15 aircraft, lending credibility to reports of the crash.

These developments mark a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict, raising concerns over further military confrontations in the region.
