Gurugram, March 10 : DC and District Election Officer Ajay Kumar today reviewed the preparations for the counting of votes to be held on Wednesday, March 12 in five body areas in the district and issued guidelines to the Returning Officers to get the votes counted as per the guidelines of the State Election Commission. He said that the counting process should be completed in a transparent and fair environment.
Addressing the meeting of officers in the conference hall located at the Mini Secretariat, DC and District Election Officer Ajay Kumar said that the Returning Officer of the concerned area will issue entry passes to the counting agents of the candidates. Counting agents
Should take their place at the time fixed by the Returning Officer. After this they will not be allowed entry. No person will be allowed to bring a mobile phone inside the counting centre.
The DC said that counting will start at 8 am on each table through EVMs. The RO or ARO of the concerned area will announce it through the loudspeaker outside after each round of counting. He informed that one counting centre has been set up in Municipal Corporation Manesar, Municipal Council Sohna and Pataudi Jatauli Mandi including Municipal Council Farrukhnagar. At the same time, 6 counting centres have been set up in Government Girls College located in Sector 14 for Gurugram Municipal Corporation.
DC Ajay Kumar directed that there should be proper arrangements for drinking water, cleanliness, electricity supply and food etc. during the counting of votes. Police personnel will be deployed inside and outside the counting centre in tight security arrangements. Therefore, the general public should not gather around the counting centre. He informed that only the movement of authorised persons inside the counting centres and vehicles authorised by the district administration will be allowed inside the premises.
First phase of training of counting personnel completed, second phase of training today
With the aim of conducting counting of votes smoothly and successfully in the civic elections, counting personnel are being trained in their responsibilities. Under this, their first phase of training was organized today on Monday at the Apparel House in Sector 44. Addressing the training program, DC and District Election Officer Ajay Kumar said that counting of votes is the last phase in the entire election process and is a responsible job. In which there is no scope for error. In such a situation, all the counting staff should clear all their doubts regarding their responsibilities with their ARO or RO in time. So that on March 12, this entire process can be completed in a transparent and peaceful environment. During this, the officers and employees undergoing training were told in detail about the various forms, formats and reporting related to the counting work. They were made aware of their responsibilities. The final training of counting personnel will be conducted on Tuesday, March 11 at the place determined by the Returning Officer of the concerned civic area.
Under the second phase of randomization, the counting areas were allotted to the counting personnel.
The counting work in all the five municipal areas of Gurugram district should be completed with complete transparency. To ensure this, as per the instructions of the State Election Commission, the second phase of randomization of counting personnel was completed today on Monday under the chairmanship of District Election Officer and DC Ajay Kumar. In which they have been allotted duty according to the municipal areas. Under the last and third phase of randomization, counting tables will be allotted to them before the counting of votes on March 12, so that the counting process can be completed in a transparent manner.
