ISKCON Gurugram Celebrates Janmashtami , More than 1 lac People Participated 2GURUGRAM  : The Janmashtami function was held at the ISKCON Gurugram Temple on the Sohna Road, Badshahpur on Tuesday, 15th of August from 4.30 am onwards till the midnight Arati where more than one lakh people joined in the celebration.
A variety of programs was taken place to entertain the guests. The Altar was beautifully decorated with colourful flowers and devotees were eagerly waiting in the long queue to take the darshan of their Lord. There was continuous melodious Kirtan, along with Jhulan Darshan, Mantra Meditation, 108 Kalash Abhishek, 108 Aarti Competitions, Quiz and Book Stalls. The main high lights of the event were  Rock Band Kirtan, Show Beautiful Jhankis, A grand Abhishek and  Midnight Arati.

More than 1 lac people received & honour sanctified food during the day. He said that a 56 bhoga offering with a big cake was made to the Lord in the midnight. “The ISKCON Gurugram congregation has a great and rich history. From the fledgeling community that started about 17 years ago, the ISKCON Gurugram has come a long way by transforming itself from a small Preaching Centre to a full-fledged Temple in Badshahpur. The congregational activities include Lord Jagannath’s Rathyatra, value-education programs, Mantra meditation, vegetarian Karma-free cooking, distribution of free Prasad to the destitute and homeless under ISKCON’s Food for Life Program, distribution of Vedic books, Kirtan concerts, Harinam Sankirtanin the streets, and Saturday & Sunday morning & evening feast programs,” ,” said Madhu Mangal Das, President ISKCON Gurgaon.

“On the Janmashtami day, devotees observed fasting till midnight and honour Ekadasi Prasadam after that. “We are very thankful to all the devotees and people for making it a grand success. Prior to the main festivity on 15th August, there was Kirtan and discourses on Lord Krishna’s pastimes (followed by Prasadam) every evening from 6.30 to 9.00 on 12th, 13th and 14th August. Thousands of people had joined in the celebration,” said Madhu Mangal Das
