Lok Sabha Panel Reviews India’s Cyber Preparedness Amid Emerging AI, Quantum Threats

Bangaram Island, Lakshadweep | October 6, 2026: The Committee on Government Assurances, Lok Sabha, reviewed an assurance concerning Cyber Warfare during its interaction with senior officials from the Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) at Bangaram Island, Lakshadweep, on October 6.

The discussions focused on strengthening India’s cyber preparedness and enhancing the country’s ability to respond to emerging security challenges arising from rapidly evolving technologies.

The Committee also deliberated on the growing implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Technologies for the security environment and the need to remain prepared for emerging threats in the evolving technological landscape.

The interaction highlighted the importance of strengthening institutional capabilities, technological readiness and coordinated efforts to safeguard India’s security interests in the cyber domain.
