New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu met with a group of experts to discuss strategies for strengthening decentralized solid waste management and developing zero-waste neighbourhoods across the national capital.
During the interaction, the LG emphasised the need for 100% segregation of waste at source, processing at the ward level, and strict compliance with waste-management norms by Bulk Waste Generators (BWGs).
Sandhu stressed that effective waste management requires active participation from residents, institutions and other stakeholders. He called for greater awareness and collective responsibility to improve cleanliness across Delhi.
“Segregate. Participate. Share. Inspire. Let’s make every neighbourhood cleaner—and Delhi zero-waste,” the LG said.
