New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah met Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, the 50th Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims and Chair of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), in New Delhi.

During the meeting, Amit Shah highlighted India’s longstanding relationship with the Aga Khan Development Network, describing it as a partnership built around a shared commitment to human development and sustainable progress.

The discussions focused on expanding cooperation across several key areas, including social development, irrigation, cooperatives, natural farming, millets and solar energy. Both sides discussed opportunities to strengthen these areas of collaboration and create a greater impact at the grassroots level.

The Union Home Minister reaffirmed India’s commitment to advancing its partnership with the Aga Khan Development Network, with an emphasis on sustainable development, community welfare and improving the quality of life of people.

The meeting comes during Prince Rahim Aga Khan V’s India visit following his accession as the 50th hereditary Imam of the Nizari Ismaili Muslims. His visit has included high-level engagements with Indian leadership and reflects the continued importance attached to the long-standing India-AKDN partnership.
