NEW DELHI: Congress Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor has been honoured with the prestigious Foreign Policy Association Medal in New York, describing the recognition as a deeply honourable moment.
Tharoor said the medal, presented by the 108-year-old Foreign Policy Association, is its highest honour and recognises leaders from government, public policy, academia and business who have demonstrated a commitment to responsible internationalism.
The Congress MP also highlighted the distinguished list of previous recipients of the award, which includes Hillary Clinton, former US Secretary of State; Kevin Rudd, former Prime Minister of Australia; Jean-Claude Trichet, former President of the European Central Bank; and Lee C. Bollinger, former President of Columbia University.
Tharoor expressed his gratitude for receiving the honour, which recognises contributions to international affairs and responsible engagement with global issues.
